The match between New South Wales and Victoria was continued today. Victoria in the second innings lost eight wickets for 269 runs, Ryder 39, Baling 71, Park 47, Armstrong 31, Carroll 35, Matthews, not out, 22.

Mr A. Situs has received information to the effect that McGregor, of the Melbourne University, will complete the team to tour New r Zeaalnd as second wicket-keeper. The team leaves Sydney to-morrow for Auckland.

In the Plunket Shield match, Auckland v. Canterbury, Canterbury won bv 318 runs. .

A civic welcome iiad been arranged for the English team. The Mayor and citizens assembled at the station to receive them, but owing to a misunderstanding, the cricketers went to their hotels without being seen by the Mayor at all. Feeling over the affair is bitter, and entertainments in honor of the team have been cancelled.
