THE RESULT OF POLICE INQUIRY

It is reported that the police are sending an officer in a fast boat to overtake the steamer Grampian at St. John’s. They had a wireless communication from the steamer. It is supposed that a passenger aboard the Grampian gave the name of George Rogers, of Market Street, Huntingdon. It has been discovered that both the name and address are false.

After visiting his solicitor on Monday, Reeks returned to his hotel. Learning that Ramsden had gone to Leeds, he made a parcel of his pyjamas and brush. Mrs Cartwright* relative of Reeks, residing at Swindon, Staffordshire, states that seeing the portrait in the paper was her first intimation of Reeks’ death, which occurred within four miles of her house. She did not know if he intended to visit her.
