Lord Knutsford is seriously ill states a London cablegram. Henry Thurstan Holland, G.C.M.G., P. 0., was created a baronet in 18-53 and was Knight of Justice and Honorary Commander of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem. Lord Knutsford, whose age is now SB, has had a long and distinguished public career. He was legal adviser to the Colonial Office as far back as 1867, and was Assistant Under-Secretary lor four years from IS7O. He was raised to'the peerage in 1888, having v been Financial Secretary to the Treasury in 1885, and was also Secretary of State for the Colonies from 1887 to 1892.
