The market is quicjt but steady and is not likely 10 improve at present. We quote per quarter, c.i.f. New Zealand wheat:— Longberried 33s 9d, Shortberried JJ3s 3d. " On Tuesday, 20th inst., at my Stratford yards, 1 had a fair entry, with a small attendance. The demand diroughout was quiet, cows being a shade easier than at previous sales. At my Stony River Yards on Wednes.lay, 21st inst., I had a full yarding, ill pens and races being well filled. There was a good attendance of buy•rs, with a fair inquiry right through or most lines. Some very nice conlitioned bulls were yarded, and these sold very readily at excellent prices, i'he store and forward cows yarded \ere smaller framed than at recent ales, whilst vendors' reserves were ilaced as on better cattle. .Nevertheess I was able to clear most of the arding at satisfactory prices. Several ;ood pens of weaners were offered, nd I disposed of the early-weaned t very good prices, but had very little nquiry for the smaller sorts.
