The New Zealand Loan and .Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their Loudon house under date 21st instant : Wheat. —An Australian cargo has been sold at 35s 7\cl ci-f. The market is quicjt but steady and is not likely 10 improve at present. We quote per quarter, c.i.f. New Zealand wheat:— Longberried 33s 9d, Shortberried JJ3s 3d. Oats. —We quote Cartons 21s 6d, Sparrow liills 21s. The market is steady and there is a fair demand. NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT. At Waiwakailio on Friday, 16th inst., I had a small yarding of cattle, of which 1 was able to clear a fair portion at the following prices ;—ls mouth steers £2' 19s to £3 7s 6d, 15 month olored heifers £.'i 13s, bulls (small) £4 2s to £5 Bs, cows and calves £4 lis, store cows £3 6s to £1 10s, forward do. £5 10s to £") 17s Gd, springing heifers £5 2s Gd to £0 7s 6d, choice Jersey cow £lO 10s, forward ewes 13s od. On Monday, 19th inst., at Toko, 15 co 18 month heifers sold at from £2 Is to £3 Is 6d, bulls £5 15s to £9 7s Gd, store cows £2 to £-1 10s, forward cows £4 19s to £5 lis. " On Tuesday, 20th inst., at my Stratford yards, 1 had a fair entry, with a small attendance. The demand diroughout was quiet, cows being a shade easier than at previous sales. Prices obtained were: Yearling to 15 nonth steers £3 to £3 10s, smaller t;l 19s Gd to £2 2s, 2 year steers £1 is Gd, 2i year steers £5 7s, 15 month veil-grown heifers £2 19s, cows and •alves £5, bulls £G 17s Gd to £8 ss, ,-earling bulls £2 17s to £3 10s, small dore cows £3 7s Gd to £3 17s, good stores and forward cows £1 lis to £5 19s, fat cows £6 5s to £7 3s. At my Stony River Yards on Wednes.lay, 21st inst., I had a full yarding, ill pens and races being well filled. There was a good attendance of buy•rs, with a fair inquiry right through or most lines. Some very nice conlitioned bulls were yarded, and these sold very readily at excellent prices, i'he store and forward cows yarded \ere smaller framed than at recent ales, whilst vendors' reserves were ilaced as on better cattle. .Nevertheess I was able to clear most of the arding at satisfactory prices. Several ;ood pens of weaners were offered, nd I disposed of the early-weaned t very good prices, but had very little nquiry for the smaller sorts.
