SYDNEY WOOL SALES.

The week’s wool sales closed buoyant with keen general competition for all good sorts, Japanese and Americans buying freely . The demand for mediums and inferiors was irregular. Greasy sold up to lod. GEELONG WOOL SALES. (Received 10.40 a.m.) Melbourne, January 23. ■ At the wool sales at Geelong competition was remarkably keen, and prices compared to December were distinctly in sellers’ favour.
HALF-YEARLY DIVIDEND.

Tiie report of the Australian Bank of Commerce for the half year proposes a dividend of three per cent., adding £IO,OOO to the reserve fund, and carrying forward £4,874.

REPORT.
Matthews, Gamlin and Co. report : On Wednesday last we held our usual weekly sale, and had a fair yarding of stock, which sold at good prices. Store •ows and bulls were greatly in demand. We quote: Cows and calves £5 to £5 7s, forward cows £4 6s to £5 15s 6d, 'ight and poor conditioned £2 15s to 23 7s ,6d, 2 year steers £4 8s 6d, 15 months steers £2 15s to £3 9s, 15 months heifers £1 18s 6d to £2 19s, bulls £5 Is to £lO, weaners 13s 6d to 255.
