ANTARCTIC EXPLORATION

A Swedish Antarctic Committee, headed by Admiral Palonder and including six professors, is starting in the autumn of 1915 as an expedition to establish a base in Grahamland, and will spend five years in exploration work. Communication will be kept up with the whaling ships frequenting the coast every season, and which will reprovision the station. It is estimated that the expedition will cost £15,000, the Government granting half.
