A WAIROA AFFAIR. [Per Press Association.] Wairoa, January 23. A public meeting last night (about 300 being present) unanimously carried a resolution requesting the PostmasterGeneral to remove the silencer off the town clock at once; failing'this, the Council to do so. y ENTANGLED IN BELTING. Wanganui, January 23. A young man named Hodge became entangled in the belting at the Alton Dairy Factory, and had his arm torn off at the elbow. The sufferer, who was alone at the time of the accident, sought assistance, and was conveyed to Patea hospital, where his arm was amputated at the shoulder.
