At the inquest to-night, on the body of Thomas Leeson, who was killed by a train at the level crossing, a verdict of accidental death, no blame being attachable to anyone, was returned.

TWO MAORI CIRLS DROWNED.

Wanganui, January 21

On Tuesday, two Maori girls, Erana Tiako and Rangi Whaita Rewi, aged seven and eight years respectively, were drowned in the Wanganui River, at Koromiti. They were bathing, when they were caught by the current. The bodies have not been recovered.

LOST AT SEA.

Auckland, January 21. During the voyage of the steamer Hornfels from Delagoa Bay, an Englishman, named Stewart, aged 24, who m joined tlie vessel as fireman, disap- W ]reared. The weather was rough at the time, and Stewart was probably washed overboard and drowned.

MAN'S FATAL FALL.

Wanganui, January 22. An elderly man named William/'w Glentworth, a resident of "Whennakura, near Patea, was found dead in town this morning. He evidently fell down an embankment to the river bed and diedy as a result of the injuries so sustained.
