Acting upon suggestions received j iTom Messrs B. Cuddie, Reakes, and I Lamber, last year's judges of the I Dairy Farm Competition, the Strat- j ford A. and P. Association have revised the conditions governing the ( competition for this year. The scale if points is as follows:-—Provision of Winter Food, 20 points; Milking Shed, 20 points; Best Laid Down Padlocks, 15 points; Best style of Pigstyes, 10 points; Best Hay Stack, 5 points; Best Fencing, 5 points; Best Herd Dairy Cows in milk to be judged by appearance, owner to have the right to throw out 10 per cent., 25 points. The prize money is on a very libera] scale, the first prize being valued at £l2 12s, second £4 -Is, third £2 '2s, fourth €1 Is. Competition is confined to farms of 50 acresj, or over, in the Moa Road Board District, Stratford, Eltham and Whangamoinona Counties, and for members of the Straford A. and V. Association.
The competition Ims for its object, the betterment of the farming conditions on the farms in and around Stratford, and it is significant that nearly half of the farms that were entered last year were sold at satisfactory prices after they were judged. Even if you are not the winner of the competition, the benefit yen nil! have derived from the preparations for the contesl will more that compensate for Iho entry fee.
