AN ACCIDENT AT XMAS'.
\,t>t Electric Telegraph—Copyright) Times—Sydney Sun Special Cables.
(Received 8 a.m.) London, January 20
Colonel Morrison, father of a sublieutenant on the A 7, states that his son told him at Xmas that the submarine recently sunk to the bottom at Plymouth and that it took an hour's hard work to raise her to the surface. THE "A" CLASS. London, January 20. J Admiral Egerton declares that the statement that the "A" class of submarines is dangerous is unwarranted. THE SEARCH CONTINUED. (Received 11.40 a.m.) London, January 20. The search vessels at Whitesand are sweeping further seaward, the water being too deep for divers. The theory is gaining ground that the crew were suffocated by gas, and that the submarine, heading seaward, the machinery continued to work until the electric batteries wore exhausted.
