Jack Johnson has been unable to secure a venue for the proposed exhibition. The Hanley territorial drill hall was refused. A football ground was granted hut subsequently cancelled. CRICKET. THE M.C.C. IN AFRICA. (Received 9.20 a.m.) Capetown, January 19. Marylebone in their second innings made 346 (Hobbs 141, Hearno 81). Griqualand West in their first innings scored 75. Barnes took five wickets for 22, Relf 5 for 24. In- the second innings they reached 170 (Ling 63). Barnes again took 5 wickets for 22.
