TARANAKI PROVINCIAL EXECUTIVE.

The Executive mot at Hawera on Thursday, when.there were present:— Messrs A. Hunter (president), I). .1. Wiillis, J. Davidson, E. Maxwell, J. Swindlehurst, J. Thomson, A. E. Washer, J. S. Barrow, G. Capper, R. Dunn and H. H. Buxton. An apology for absence was received and leave granted to Mr Lambie. Agricultural Education. The following resolution passed at a meeting of farmers and townspeople at Hawera was received, viz:—That the .Farmers’ Union Executive he asked to urge, the Government to make’ statutory provision for .the establishment of a junior agricultural college at Hawera.—lt was resolved to again bring the matter before the Government and urge them to establish the college in the terms expressed in the Executive’s resolution of August last/ Stock Sales. * Mr Newton King, in reply to representations from the Executive, 'wrote stating that the. suggesting' of the Executive to give out the names of buyers and sellers, at stock sales would receive consideration.—ft was resolved to thank Mr King and express tho hope that the suggestion would be adopted. A letter was received from Mr M. E. Voullaire stating that at a meeting of farmers held there a branch of the union had been formed consisting of twenty-five members.—A vote expressing appreciation of tho efforts )1 the Rivorloa farmers was passed. Organisation. Tho matter of the organisation of tho Union throughout Taranaki was discussed at length. The secretary, who had been asked to consider taking up the matter stated that at present he could not undertake it.—lt was resolved to ask Mr D. Jones, Canterbury, to undertake the work. It was decided to hold the annual provincial conference at Patea on May the 14th, and that brandies he notified to send their remits in time ! 'or the April meeting of the Executive.
