BOARD OF AGRICULTURE.
_ _o EXPLAINING THE REGULATIONS [PEB PIIESS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, January 13. The constitution of the Board of Agriculture "ill shortly be effected according to the regulations which wore recently brought into operation. The selection of its members will be completed within six or eight weeks. The Hoard will comprise twelve members, of whom !<>ur will be directly nominated by the Governor, and t.ie others appointed upon the recommendation of the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies.
Explaining tin l regulations this evening, the Minister for Agriculture (the Righc Hon. \V. P. Massey) nu< that for the purposes of the Act the Dominion will be divided into eight districts, in each of which a meeting
of representatives of the Societies in i that district will be convened. Each I Society will be invited to send a dole- j gate, and any one which is unable to arrange I'or represent:)tion by one of its own members will be able to j atik some other delegate to' vote For it. Ppon receipt of the recommendations From these meetings the Governor will appoint four members to represent the South Island, and four | the Xorth Island. The remaining j four members will be nominated after j the elective members have been chos- i en, and the Governor will also up- j point the president and the vice-pro-sklents from the personnel of the Board. <
