HARRY THAW AGAIN

INDIAN SUPERSTST3ON.

Three Indians at Denawpur were sentenced to life transportation for burning an old woman whom the Indians suspected of causing the illness of their wives. On their subsequent dying, the old woman was captured, tied to a stake, and burned, the woman shrieking unavailingly.
THE PRUSSIAN ARMY.

Count Yorck, in the Prussian Diet, declared that the Reichstag aimed at following England’s example in 1612 by sharing control of the army. Chancellor Hollweg replied that every Prussian who was true to the Constitution passionately desired to maintain the -army against attacks, and to prevent it becoming a parliamentary army.
TURKEY AND RUSSIA.

Liman Pasha, as General Liman Yon-saders will bp called, has been, appointed Inspector-General oi tlie army instead of Commander of Hie first Army Corps, which in future will be under - command of a Turkish general, with a German assistant. Bronsart Icliellendorf becomes assistant-chief of the general staff.
