The Government Meteorologist (Rev D. C. Ratos) telegraphed this afternoon as follows:
Northerly strong to gale with westerly tendency. Expect warm and humid conditions. Weather clouding over, rain later, and barometer falling shortly. Storm appears/ to ho approaching from the west, chiefly affecting the South Island.
