FIRE AT TRAINING STABLE.
[Per Press Association.] Gisborne, January 9
Nasmith’s training stables were to-tally-destroyed by lire at 2 o’clock this morning, and three valuable racehorses—Aldgown, Tribunal and Cooksly—perished.
A BOY MISSING.
Wellington, January 9
Hector COsse, a 1 I-year-old boy residing at, Lower Hntt. disappeared from his home on Wednesday mornijng, and he has not been heard' o*’ since. Thy, boy’s mother is anxious concerning his welfare, and cannot account for his strange behaviour. He had about £2 in money with him when he went away, and he wrote a note to his mother stating that he was going to “strike out on his own.” Numerous telegrams have been sent to relatives in different parts of New Zealand, but up to the present nothing regarding his whereabouts has been heard.
