ANTARCTIC EXPLORATION.
SIR E. SHACKLETONS PLANS. [Br Electric Telegraph—Copitright] [United Press Association.] London, January 6.
It is suggested that an American expedition may compete with Sir Ernest ShackletoSi in the exploration of the Antarctic Coninent. This does not worry Sir Ernest. "The Antarctic regions don't belong to me," he said. "If anything in the nature of a race takes place I shall do my best to win."
Many subscriptions toward the cost of the expedition have been received, the amounts ranging from four shillings upwards.
