SENGHENYDD DISASTER.
EVIDENCE AT THE INQUIRY. [Br Electric Telegraph— OoPtaiGHT] [United Press Association.] London, January 2. At the Home Office inquiry into the Senghenydd disaster Mr Shaw, the mine manager, gave evidence that the mine was gassy and dusty. After the explosion two" lamps were found open. Presumably they had been opened by the lampman. The lamps might have gone out and been afterwards opened. He believed a blow-out of gas dislodged a rock, which emitted' a Kpiirk, and the explosive mixture was forced against an open lamp, thus causing the disaster. li
