Barry replies that he recognises tho challenge from Baddoii as coming first. If he vows Albany the race must not be for less than £SOO aside. Barry is quite prepared to meet Albany for this amount.

NEW ZEALAN DERS ABROAD

The New Zealand cricket team started its sixth match yesterday, at Albury, where it met an Albury and Border team. The weather was hot and the hatting was good.

The New Zealanders scored 378 runs in their second innigs. Sneddon, Hemus and Carlton were in good form. Bennett hit hard. The home team's poor fielding accounts for the big scores.

Tho individual'scOres were:—Hemus 69, Somervell 10, Sneddon 89, Sandman 6, Tuekwell 0, Reose 30, Taylor 31, Patrick 18, Carlton 44, Bennett 56, Tattersall, 2 not out. The extras totalled 17.
