' The reason why the Australian Board of Control may withold its sanction to the proposed visit of Sims' team to New Zealand is that the New Zealand Council has been negotiating with the promoter without consulting the Board. AVb.cn Orchard was uere it was pointed out that if the team visited New Zealand without the. sanction of the Australian Cricketing Authorities, complications might arise. The Board was anxious to help New Zealand cricket. Although not averse to the trip it is desirous that everything shall be in proper order, i .
( The Herald says: "It will probacy be found that the Board will not consider applications from players for permission to go, but will place the onus of the whole matter on the shoulders of the Zealand Cricket Council. "The primary reason for which the Board was formed was to ■control international cricket, and if Australian teams are allowed to negotiate with the governing bodies of other cor.utries with a view to arranging tours then the good work already accomplished ; s gone for nought. It rests with the New Zealand Council to put the matters right.
