HOTEL AND HALL DESTROYED.
[Per Press Association.] Dunedin, January I. The police have reecived information that tho Newtown Hotel and the Hall at Matakanui were totally destroyed by lire on Friday. Tho buildings wore insured; for £6OO and tho furniture for £l3O, but the office who issued tho policies is unknown. The hotel was [occupied by I). W. MacFarlano.
