A FAMOUS BOWL.

Major-General Sir R.‘ S. S. Baden-Powell has been presented by the United Service Instiiu'e with King Prempeh’s famous bowi. The tradition in connection with the bowl runs that whenever the King paid homage to the shades of h : s ancestors he requisitioned twenty ir.cn to kill, King Prempeh watching the sacrifice seated on his chair and sheltered by an umbrella, while ;he Queen was seated on a stool on nis left.
