PURE FOOD.
Though 'The Sale of Food and Drugs Art" came into force on April Ist of this year, so far as most manufacturers are concerned, some latitude was allowed to trades in respect of existing stocks-in-trade under conditions Iset out in Sub-section 'A of Section 27, which states that notwithstanding anything contained in any regulation made lunder the authority of this section, it" shall be lawful for any person at any time within twelve months after the date of the gazetting of such regulation to sell anv food or drug, the sale of which is otherwise lawful, if he proves that at the s;iid ante such food or drily w;is part of the existing stock in trade in New Zealand of any person carrying on business there, and [that since the said date no act has I boon done whereby the said food or [drug fails to conform to ilic requirements of tiie said regulations.
