POST AND TELEGRArH DEPARTMENT.. Postal Branch.—Thursday, December 25 and January 1 (Christmas Day and New Year's Day) will be observed as close holidays. On Friday, December 26th (Boxing Day), the Post Office will be open in all its branches except money order's and savings banis. From 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Telegraph Office.—-The telegraph office will be open on Thursday, the 25th inst (Christmas Day) from 9.30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. On Friday (Boxing Day) and Thursday (New Year's Day), the hours will be from !) a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mails.—Mails usually despatched on Thursdays will be closed Wednesday nights 21th and 31st inst., at 8 p.m. Counter Delivery.—Deliveries of letters (including registered) will bt • nade on the Wednesday nights, the 24th and 31st inst., from 7 o'clock to S o'clock. Letter Carriers' Deliveries.—There | will be none on New Year's Day. WIRELESS GREETINGS. | By special arrangements Nmas ami New Year's wireless greetings telegrams will be exchanged between Sew Zealand and (he Commonwealth. ( The text of the Christmas greetings telegrams must consist of not more, > than four words to read "Compliments j :)f Season," or "Christmas Greetings" I and the text of New Year's greetings 'j telegrams must read, "Compliments i of the Season" or "New Year's Greet- It iiiLts," as the sender may desire.
