Results : Bowen Handicap—Ovation 1, Signo 2, Tripoli; .3. Scratched: Histoirette, Tinorika, Belasco and 'Mint. Monojack, Tripoli and Silver Shield were first into the straight, where Ovation came through and won by throe-quart-ers of a- length. Excavator fell. Time, lmin 16 3-ssee. Islington Plate.—Warstop 1, Postillion 2,-Rinaldo 8.. The only starters. Two raced in line to the halfmile post, when Postillion went to the front. At the distance.Warstep challenged, and won easily by two lengths. * Visitors' Handicap.—Gipsy Belle 1, Warorewa 2, Beldame 3. Scratched: King Lupin and Overtime. Glad Tidings made the running to the distance, where Gipsy Belle came through, and in a good finish Gipsy Belle won by half a length. Time, lmin Isec. Ponsonby Hurdles. —Phroso 1, Sandy Paul 2, Merrirnax 3. Scratched: Vestal. Dawn made the running to the last fence, when he struck and came down, leaving Phroso to go on and win by four lengths. Kotoripo fell. Dash was pulled up. Time, 3mm 16 l-sscc. THE PALMERSTON MEETING. Palmerston, December 29. There was glorious weather and a good attendance for the third day of the Mahawatu Racing Club's summer meeting. Results: — Whit-more Hack.—St. Elm 1, The Summit 2, General Madero 3. Scratched: Charge. A splendid race. Time, lmin 57 4-ssec. Te Maiti Hurdles.—Hatana 1, Marble Head 2, Trooper 3. Scratched: Matlow. Time, 2min 51sec.
