Reuter's correspondent states thai; there is much discussion at the remarkable police precautions being taken in connection with Lord Hardinge's visit. No functions have beeai held, and crowds are not allowed to congregate in the streets during the procession. Only officials were aumiti ted to Howrah. station when the train departed. The raihvaj was guarded for hundred of miles, the police standing four feet apart bearing torches. The general public did not have a glimpse of Lord Hardinge.
