The Government Meteorologist (Rev J). C. Bates) telegraphed this afternoon as follows: The weather continues threatening. Variable and strong breezes, northerly prevailing. Expect warm and sultry weather, increasing haze and cloudiness. The weather appears like--1 to change for the worse after 21 to ; ; pours. Barometer unsteady, hut falling after 20 hours.
