THE DOCKYARD IN DANCER.

A huge semaphore tower surrounding a block of stores at Portsmouth dockyard was burned. The lire damaged several hundred thousand pounds worth of oils and naval stores and destroyed large quantities.

The battleship Queen Mary was threatened and was towed to safety. The rigging house, sail loft and staff captain's offices were burned. A large force of naval men prevented 'u 1 spread of the fire to the oil tanks.
