MURDER IN PAPUA,

A wireless report from fort Moresby states that two decapitated natives, who were missing, were discovered five miles from town, having been murdered by recalcitrant natives living ttvonty miles from the capital.

MURDERED* BY CANNIBALS. GERMAN SCIENTISTS KILLED. Brisbane, December 22. The steamer Prinz Waldcmar brought a report from the Island of Nobaul that two German scientists and fourteen natives were murdered by cannibals of the lsbtnd of New Mecklenberg, formerly Xew Ireland.

It appeals that Herr Deininger, another German, and a number of ative carriers were collecting specimens of timber and were surprised and massacred by savages. Xo details are given.

A 'oii.'b tion of things next door to slavery prevails amongst the. French. They buy and sell natives, like cattle. It would be worse if Britain had no say at all.
