THE PROVINCIAL EXECUTIVE.
Aii ordinary meeting of the Taranaki Provincial' Executive N.Z. Partners’ I'nion was hold at Hawera on Thursday, when there wore present, Messrs I?. Dunn, vice-president (chair) R. Lam hie, J. Davidson, J. S. Barrow, H. H, Buxton, J. Swindlehurst I). J. Willis and J. Thomson. Lean of absence was granted to absent members.
Stock Sales. The Auroa branch 'forwarded tin following resolution“ That the Exe entire be asked to bring before tin auctioneers the advisability of giv ing out the names of buyer and sel ler of [all stock sold at public auc tion.”
Mr Dunn 1 moved that the resolution be forwarded to the Taranaki auc tioneers. He said that the brand ing of culled dairy stock' seethed tV be impracticable and the next bosi thing to do was to give the name of buyer and seller. Mr Lambie sec ondCd the' motion. He said that cull cd cows in one herd might bo consid cred average cows in another herd. Mr Buxton thought that if a guar antce were given it would bo a gooi safeguard. The motion was carried.
Shipping Monopoly. The Stoke Emit Growers’ Assooia tion forwarded a resolution that th Government be asked to engage in th. sea transport of New Zealand, am asked': the Executive to support tin proposal. , It was resolved that thletor lie received, but that the-Exe cutivel jeannot see its way to .recom mend |tho Government, to enter inti a general sea transport scheme. General.
