The conference of the Public Service Associations of the Commonwealth and New Zealand has concluded. It was decided to form a grand council of association to deal with matters of common interest. Resolutions were carried in favor of a 48-hbur week; advertising all vacancies fos positions ; and giving officers aganst whom adverse reports are made full'opportunity for rebuttal. It was decided that the Commonwealth and New Zealand rules for sick pay be adopted. - Other resolutions dealt with questions of annual and long leave, working hours, and overtime, with a view to securing uniformity. Mr J. J. Russell represented New Zealand.
