There were extraordinary revelations at Indianapolis in the prosecution of Martin Karris; his wife fnd : ,\vo daughters, who are accused of ising the mails to defraud by operating a matrimonial bureau. Parris pleaded guilty. He admitted that one daughter wrote letters to -nen who wished to marry her. The -abher then named away the prospective bridegrooms. Five men arrived at their fiancee's home simultaneously, while 50 were at the same time engaged to Louise Farris. Louise succeeded in getting large sums of ruld, diamonds, and bracelets from vould-be wooers. One victim was r-.tated to be a well-known pugilist. Whenever gifts arrived at the Farris' ionic a general scramble ensued. Whoever succeeded in grabbing a package kept the contents. The recital kept the court in laughter throughout.
