EDUCATION BOARD.

MONTHLY .MEETING. At the monthly meeting of the Taranaki Education Board yesterday, there were present: Messrs H. Trimble (in lie chair), A. Morton, W. L. Kennedy, Rodgers, A. M. Bradbury, R. Tasters, J. Young, and G. A. Adlam. The following busines of interest to he Stratford district was-transacted : The application of the Pungarehu school committee for the enlargement if their sciiool was referred to the •hief inspector to report on.

The matter of a new water tank at Tuna, and a report on the lavatories t the Xgaere School were referred o the Overseer.

Mr John Graham, headmaster of the 'ohokura school, reported that his asistant had given lier pupils a holiday m the ocasion of the Stratford show n December 4. The explanation of ao teacher in question was to the ef'qct that a holiday had been granted >y the committee. , , It was‘decided to ask the Pohdktira committee whether a holiday was authorised as stated by the assistant :eacher.
