To-night’s new series of films are direct from Wellington, and embrace a very high-class number of Kine art. The star feature, 2500 ft. in length, is a war drama in which actual scenes in "the recent conflict in tne Balkans are blended with dramatic episodes in the lives of the chief actors. Behind the savage instincts aroused by the lust of blood are the primeval passions of war, and it is the working of a jealous mind already tormented by the strain of a hard day, that leads to the final scene and sacrifice of a life for naught. The supporting films include ■. lie latest Gaumont Graphic, “Strange Sea Water Creatures” (Pathe educational), “The Valley of Bourne,” The comics are headed by the laughable “One Round O’Brien domes Back.” A notable dramagraph >y the Thaunauser Co. is seen to advantage in “The Last Combination, 'he young mechanic was easily infhinced by evil companions. His wife, ifluonced by her father, left her hus,and. He is finally discharged frim lis work, and later joins a band of eggmen, where his ability as a safe xpert gained his leadership. The children were playing b “Hide-and-Seek” one day and the Ider ran into a vault, to hide. The t,eel-door was accidentally locked and iie child imprisoned. The step-father ried vainly to open the vault, then ememhered that several celehiated afe-experts were among the convicts n a nearby prison. Jhe convict sent or was none but his wife’s first husiand. He recognises the wife, and •efuses until lie finds that it is his own laughter locked in the safe, when he ipens the safe and rescues her. Latei, 10 was pa rolled and left for the West o begin life anew under another name. The awakened love for his child has regenerated him. ______
