SCHOOL CONCERT. [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.! Tlie school concert, held in the Coronation Hall on Friday evening last, proved a great success. Mr G. Bail! (chairman School Committee), in his speech, said that the proceeds were to go to getting new books for the library, and to erecting a dressing shed at the swimming baths. Mr 11. Masters, (member of the Tarariaki Education Board), was present and took the chair for the evening. In his address, after referring to the great pleasure it gave him in being present, remarked upon the good work the I oko school committee had done, in improving the school grounds, etc. Referring to the inspector’s report of the examination held recently, Mr Masters said it was most gratifying, and spoke well for Mr Allen, their headmaster. Iho childien were well trained for the concert, which reflected great credit on the teachers. The programme was as follows : Song, children, “Marching Through Georgia” ; song, “Nursery Rhymes,” Lower Division; recitation, “The Naughty Boy,” James Butler; “Where do all the Daisies Go,” Infant Girls; song, ‘‘The Tambourine,” Lower Division; recitation, “What Teddy Says,” M.vrtle. Bennett; song, “Flower Bells,” Lower Division; song, “Swinging Song,” Upper Girls; recitation, “Late at iNUght,” Percy Griffiths; song, “Echo Song,” Upper Division; song “Farmer’s Boy,” Boys; recitation, “The Torch of Life,” Jack Hine; song, “sparkling and bright,” Upper Division ; recitation, “The Sea,” Albert Gernhoefer ; song, , “Canadian Boat Song,” Upper Division; dialogue, “Errand Boy’s Yarns,” jack Hine, Douglas McDonald, Albert Gemhoeferand Jack Johnson; piano duet, Misses Milne and Bain ; song, Miss Nortna Maxwell; * reading, Master Geo. Were ; song, Miss Cumberworth; recitation, “Herr Schneider,” (entered twice), Mr Wilkie; song. Miss D. Hine. Ihe accompaniments were played by Miss Cumberworth and Miss L. Hine.

TOKO SETTLERS ASSOCIATION. The A. and P. Show, in conjunction with,the Horticultural Show, has been fixed to take place on the 19th of February, and . a’ strong committee is sot up. Mr G. Cleary, secretary of the Association, is now busy drawing up a schedule. Quite a number ot special prizds have been promised, including one from Mr J. B. Hine, M-P*,! of a silver, challenge cup for the best dairy herd producing the most butterfat factory returns for the season from June Ist to May 31st. Mr C.
