He states that the rebels were, repulsed and driven oil' with heavy losses. A Federal force relieved the garrison. During the hunting the gunboat Bravo shelli ;1 the rebel position. There are 350 refugees aboard the steamer Kronprinzessin Cecillie, 150 aboard the Logican, 150 on American gunboats, and 500 are staying in the neutral zone.
UNIMPROVED SITUATION. Washington, December 12. Admiral Fletcher states that lie has taken off the majority of the foreigners aboard the American battleships. Me makes no mention of an ultimatum to cease fighting, but he states mat nothing serious has yet occurred. He thinks the situation is becoming worse. Both the Federals and the rebels are shooting or hanging all their prisoners. Three men were hanged within the Federal lines, within full view of the city. .
THE REBELS ROUTED. (Received 8.55 a.m.) Mexico City, December 14. A heavy bombardment by the Federals and gunboats' is reported to have routed the reb'els around Tampico. Hundreds of rebels are reported to have been kileld.

REVENGE ON THE SPANIARDS. (Received 8.5 a.m.) Xew York, Decernber 14. El Paso, Texas, reports that Genoral Villa robbed in whosesale fashion after capturing Chihuahua. He executed many residents, and refused to allow the British and American consuls to communicate in code with their Governments. He threated to kill all Spaniards who, he claimed, had ill-treated him in former years. In consequence of Villa's deeds, hundreds of Spaniards lett the city and | crossed the; American border.
