A farmer in Aberdeenshire was fined for non-compliance with the Insurance Act.

A cow belonging to him was seized by the sheriff and taken to a town for a.sale, under police protection. Three thousand farmers and others rushed the animal and its attendants out of the market square. The cow was last seen galloping homewards.

The crowd chased the auctioneers into a shed, which they pelted wit road metal. Police guarded the. doors.
