BOWLING.
THE STRATFORD CLUB. (By P. Steward.) The draws for the Buttons have been arranged for Thursday afternoon, when two games of fifteen heads will be played. The Feathers competition will likely be the order for this evening. Bast night the holders, Robson and Porritt, were beaten by Wilson and Brake. The Patea match with Stratford is off indefinitely, as the representatives of the Southern dairy port “dunno w’ere they are” owing to a decision as to the centre to which they shall be attached being still undecided. At the tournament at Wanganui at Christmas the Stratford Club will, under ordinary circumstances, be represented, Messrs Foolces, Porritt, McMillan, and Smart having arranged to try conclusions with the cracks foregathered there. It is questionable whether “George” will lie sufficiently well “up” in health after his unfortunate accident to bo able to play. Masters, sen., will, I understand, also rank as a competitor, so that he may provide the fourth player for the rink.
