VETERANS’ HOME.
BOARD'S ANNUAL MEETING. [Per Press Association.] Wellington, December 9. At the annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the Veterans’ Home this morning the Governor presided and reported that during the year the capital fund had increased from £9440 to £9740, but owing to a decrease in subsidy and collections of £IOB a deficit of £272 had to be charged against the accumulated fund. The average number of resident veterans were maintained, the cost averaging 13s 11 J per week per head. The Governor was re-elected president, the Hon. E. Mitcheson, treasurer, and Col. R. J. Collins, secretary. The Board passed a resolution of sympathy with the widow and family of Sir Win. Russell, one of the founders of the institution.
