LONDON WOOL SALES. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association i (Received 10.40 a.m.) London, December 9. The wool sales closed with J prices unchanged. Competition foil best merino combings was well maintained, while crossbreds were very weak.
HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. Wellington, December 10. The High Commissioner’s cable dated 9th December, states: The v.ool sales closed with good competition from the Continent, as rnanufactm ers are busy, but the Home trade is ouiet and the purchases were smaller than the usual. The Americans aie still holding off, but have taken about 9000 bales. Estimated values: Superior merino Is Id to Is 2d, medium lOd to lid, inferior 8d to Old, fine crossbreds (all grades) Is to Is 2d, medium crossbreds (all grades) lOd to Hid, coarse crossbreds (all grades) 9d to lid. ’len thousand bales of New Zealand wool were held over. The prospects are that trade is likely to improve now that a lower level of values has been established.
