At the annual meeting of the Board! of Governors of the Veterans’ Hbfiie; this morning the Governor presided* and reported that during the year the! capital fund had increased from £9440 to £9740, but owing to a decrease in subsidy and collections of £IOB a der ficit of £272 had to lie charged against the accumulated fund. The average number of resident veterans were maintained, the cost averaging 13s 1U per week per head. The Governor was re-elected president, the Hon. E. Mitcheson, treasurer, and Col. R. J. Collins, secretary. The Board passed a resolution of sympathy with the widow and family of Sir B ni. Russell, one of the founders of the institution.
