FATAL FALL FROM A DRAY. fPf u Pnnsß Association. 1 Waipav. a, December 9. W. R. Fpsjllcj if. settles at' Wanstcad, aged 40, was thrown from a dray ou Saturday, and tho wheel passed over his head, death being instantaneous. ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. , . Dunedin, December 8. Martin Walsh, a seaman, who was recently on the Waitomo, made an attempt on his life this evening. He had evidently been worrying over losing his situation on account of the strike, and ho cut his throat with a razor. The wound, however, is not serious. WASHED ASHORE AT PET&NE. Wellington, December 9. The body of an. infant was found cn ths beach in a decomposed state. It was not identified.
BOY RESCUER COMMENDED. Wellington, December 9. At the inquest on the death of a youth, John Tonks, the coroner, returned a verdict of accidental drown-’ ing, and commended Roy Hunt, deceased’s companion, for Ids efforts at rescue.
