Mr F. Xewland, of Fair Farm, "Warwick Road, put up what seems Clike a record with the pedigree pigs at the show. He entered three pigs and gained three first prizes, two championships . and one special. Mr D. Cuddie. the Director of the Dairy Produce Division, and Mr AY. M. Singleton, the Assistant Director, were visitors to the Stratford Show on Thursday. They were keenly interested in the dairy cattle classes, and inspected the various pens of both old and young cattle. Like most other distant visitors, they thoroughly enjoyed the dog parade, as a special feature of the afternoon's entertainment..
Mr John Fitzgerald, who has been licensee of the Empire Hotel for the past twelve years, has disposed of his interest in the house to Mr R. H. Campbell, whose negotiations for the purchase of the Stratford Hotel fell through. Mr Campbell will take up possession about December 22hd. In the meantime, states Mr Fitzgerald, he will not be very anxious to get into another hotel.
