Two Pathans were sentenced to death at Ghelum for murdering LanceCorporal Bartlett, of 17th Lancers, in the Wazirabad train in revenge for the death of a notorious Pathan rifle thief, killed by the military in 1908. THE KAISER'S DISCOVERY. Berlin, December 2. The immediate cause of the Kaiser's anti-tango decree was the discovery that tli" Crown Princess was taking lessons in ultra-modern dances, and that the Crown Prince was also interested in the tango. THE SHOEMAKER'S PLIGHT. Berlin, December 2. Workmen at Zabem shouted an inj.suit at Von Koerstner, who sent a 'patrol to arrest them. All escaped .except a lame shoemaker, l.vliom Von Foerstner struck on the forehead with his sword, inflicting a dangerous wound. Von Foerstner declares that the' shoemaker was the I aggressor.
