Mr S. Spence leaves to-moronv lor Auckland, where he is to be married on Wednesday next. Mr Spence has been secretary of the Stratford Golf Club for the past two years, and has been an enthusiastic player practically frojn the inception of the club about ten years ago. On Saturday evening at the Stratford Club, Mr Spence was presented with a travelling bag and rug by the members of the Club. Mr p. Tyrer, vice-president of the club, made the’presentation, and Whs seconed in his remarks by Mr A. W*. Budge Mr Spence suitably responded. Yesterday morning he was presented by the lady members of the Golf Club with a silver entree dish, and in the 'evening at the County Hotel lie was met by the men members of the duo and presented with a silver hut-water kettle and stand. The', presentation was made by Mr A. W. Badge, p.'csident of the Club, who eulog-sed the services of Mr Spence as rehetary of the club. In reply Mr Spence said he hoped to still be aW to give Ins best services in the interests of t club.
