STRATFORD A. and P. SHOW.

The Stratford Show of last year was voted on all sides a great success. Tomorrow is the first day of the fourth Annua! Show with the very best prospects of its being a more brilliant function than any hitherto held under the Society’s auspices. ft is generally acknowledged that the success of the Stratford A. and P. Association from the outset, in the manage.neat of its Show, is unprecedented in the !jistory of A. and I*. Associations in the Dominion. Starting without any capital in hand and having to work only on the guaranteed co-operation of the settlers and. townspeople, a very big commencement could hardly he expected, hut so generously did the whole district strive to do everything possible to hell) the new institution along, that when the first Show win held, to put it mildly, everyone war astonished at the wonderful, result achieved. Prom the first year, .success lias followed success, with unfailing regul vrity, and to-day , the 'Show is known and spoken of with unstinted praise throughout. New Zealand. In the management of the Show, although some of the older hands have dropped out of active participation, the efficient working of the

executive has been in no way diminished, and there is not wanting the splendid enthusiasm that lias always been so marked a feature with all concerned in the well-being of the Stratford A. and P. Association. A membership'of close on one thousand mem- , bars for so young an Association is in deed something to be proud of. and the ‘members 'have every reason to be pi a sed with the privileges which member ship carries. The general public by paying one shilling for admission get truly good value iu .rptux'n, and this year they will get the benefit of a reduction for admission to the people's stand, it being decided to charge only one shilling, with children admitted (at half price. The Association’s huge tents to hold the dog and poultry cx- [ Inbits are already erected, and everyj thing in connection with the Show is j well in hand. The side shows so well I represented in previous years will be j more varied and numerous at the j Show to-morrow and the l following j day. All that is wanted to make .the i Show of 1918 a most brilliant success ) is bright weather and a liberal patj milage by the people of Taranaki. Tim i change in the wind this morning giverI hope of the former: the latter is asj sured.
