ORANGERY.
OPENING OF LODGE STRATFORD.
The 27th November was a reel Tetter day to Orangemen in Stratford, when a large number of Orangemen from New Plymouth, Wanganui, Eltham and Hawera assembled at Stratford for the purpose of opening a Lodge of the Order, entitled Loyal Orange Lodge, Stratford (Sir Edward Carson No. 76).
The'Lodge was duly constituted at 8 p.m., when the following visiting brethren took their seats and duly proceeded to open the Lodge: Pro. Mayes, W.M. ; Bro. Vincent, D.M.; Rev. Bro. Liddle, chapldin; treasurer, Bro. Hooker sec.; Bro. Hodge, tyler. Several foundations were then affiliated by clearance, and a number of candidates were initiated into the Lodge.
The Right Worshipful Grand Master, of New Zealand, Bro. W. Hunter (Palmerston North), then took the chair, and in-a short address dedicated the Lodge in due form and then installed the officers for the ensuing term.
