'Cr. A. Meredith was re-elected chairman of the Whangamoraona County Council at the annual meeting of the Council on Wednesday. Cr. McCutchan was nominated, but declined to stand. Notice is given by advertisement in this issue that the Eltham and Stratford hands will give an open-air concert at Ngaere’on Sunday next, and that a brake will leave the' Empire Stables at 10.30 a m. and 1.30 p.m., returning in the evening to suit patrons. At the Hawera show Mr J. W. McMillan secured all the awards in the Airedale terrier section. Mr A. C. Walshc got second prize- for smooth fox terrier puppy dogs under twelve months, third in maiden dogs and v.h.c. in novice dogs, Mr H. Masters secured third prize in open Second prize was secured by Mr G. T. Henry in English setter puppy dogs under twelve months and also third prize in the open class. The North Taranaki Hunt’ took the three prizes provided for harriers.
