At the Inter-State Tennis Carnival, Doust and Rice, Davis Cup candidates, won l defeated in the third round of the singles championship by A. O’Hara. Wood gained a sensational victory against overwhelming odds over Rice after the latter had won 4—o and 3—2. He lead in the fifth deciding set. Heath beat Doust.
