[By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 9.25 a.m.) Melbourne, November 2B A reply has* been received from the Imperial Government regarding the proposed Defence Conference. # lt is understood that though Britain iejeets the Commonwealth’s proposal a conference nill he held in the near future. The reply does not exclude the possibility of a conference at a later period. Next year such a conference, is indeed, now considered likelv.
